Life Is Great!

Joshua has been spending a lot of time playing on the deck since the snow has all melted. He can go in and out of the house easily now by walking over the threshold. He can ride in his Little Tyke Coupe, or play ball with grandpa.

Josh's Baby Dedication

We would like to thank our family and friends who took their time to come and be witnesses to Joshua being dedicated. Many of you had to miss your own church services and we appreciate the effort that you made to attend.


It is Gina's commitment to raise Joshua in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Her responsibility includes praying for and with Joshua, reading the Bible together and attending church on a regular basis.


The Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:7: You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.


Thank you for being a part of this special day.

I pledge before Almighty God, in the dedication of my children,
to love the Lord my God and live for Him all the days of my life.
I pledge to raise my children to know of Jesus' love and of His
gift of eternal life. I pledge to help them to know His Word and
to know His ways. I pledge to help them commit their lives to
Him As I live before the Lord I pledge to seek God through
prayer for His wisdom and guidance and help in raising them
through life. I pledge to participate in helping them receive the
blessings and benefits of the church.
That they may be nurtured in Christ's love and experience His presence. I pledge to pray for their protection and destiny all
the days of their life.

Prayer for the Children
Heavenly Father today we declare before you and the
witnesses of Heaven that our trust and confidence to raise our
children for you rests solely in the provision of your grace. We
the church and the parents unite together in vow to raise these
children in your admonition and love. We pray for the wisdom
to teach and communicate to our children your love and
presence through Jesus Christ. Thank you for helping us to see
and make the sacrifices vital and necessary for our children's
spiritual benefit and upbringing. We thank you for the help and
consul of the Holy Spirit in every season of life and for every
situation. We thank you for the promise that as we yield
ourselves to you, that our children will be taught of you and
great shall be their peace and that no weapon formed against
them shall prosper.
We bless you and thank you for them in Jesus Name. Amen

I move to the groove

Joshua has always danced when the music has started playing. . .but yesterday as he was playing with a toy that made music, he was humming along.


Cory was installing a new faucet in the kitchen today and Josh had to crawl in the cupboard with Cory to help him. He really likes to hold the tools - although sometimes Cory needs to hunt them down after Joshua has walked away.

Josh at 11 months

I just wanted to share a few of the silly things that Joshua is doing. He just learned how to spin in a circle. We can find him spinning and spinning until he just falls over.


The other thing that I have been waiting 11 months to share with him is an Icee. Gina does not like them and I keep telling her that Josh and I will be sharing a cherry Icee this summer, and then we will share cherry kisses.


Today that dream became a reality as I purchased a Blue Raspberry Icee from Target. He can actually suck the slushy up the straw. Oh yeah, and his kisses never tasted so sweet!

Josh is amazing!

Josh is 10 months old now and more amazing each day. I know what you're thinking ~ that every grandma thinks their grandson is amazing. That may be true, but I have proof!


Josh can stand up in the middle of the room and take 3 or 4 steps before falling. He is able to climb up the stairs with great speed. He still needs help in order to go down the steps ~ he doesn't know how to turn himself around at the top of the steps yet so that he can go down backwards. He can give a kiss on demand (it is still an open mouth kiss, but we are still working on that one!) Josh can drink from a cup by himself and now we need to start ducking, because he's just as likely to toss it when he's finished as to set it down. Those pesky top front teeth have still not made an appearance...hopefully soon. Now his favorite activity is when we go to the mall to play at the soft play area where there are lots of other kids. As we approach the play area he begins a high pitch scream which is similar to a teapot's whistle. Then he sees the other kids and is so excited that he points at them and babbles loudly. Everyone knows when Joshua arrives!

Joshua causing trouble?

Josh spends time playing with his friends in the nursery while we go to the church service. He used to go to the nursery and end up in the swing where he would sleep the night away. But now that he is older and mobile he is able to interact more with the other kids. When Gina went to pick him up after the service, she heard him squealing and crawling quickly away from a little girl with her boot in his hand. Oh boy, here we go!
